Long Single Crochet (lsc)

Learn how to crochet the long single crochet stitch. We will guide you through the stitch with photo and video tutorials.

If you pair the long single crochet with the standard single crochet, you can achieve a unique look and a really nice texture in crocheted projects like baskets and bags.

The abbreviation for the long single crochet looks like this (lsc), and the stitch is really easy to master!

How to crochet the long single crochet

We will be switching back and forth between a standard single crochet stitch and a long single crochet.

  1. Do a single crochet in the first stitch.
  2. Now do a long single crochet in the stitch from the previous round (the round/row before the one you did your single crochet stitch in). This is a long single crochet.
  3. Repeat until you have the desired number of long single crochets.
