1. What Is a Mystery Knit-Along?

A Knit-Along (KAL) is a fun and social way to knit a project together with others, at the same time, step by step! A Mystery KAL adds a little extra excitement as you don’t know what the final project will look like until the very end! 🕵️♀️

For the #EasySummerCardiKAL, the pattern is divided into six parts, released weekly. You’ll get to enjoy the knitting journey, connect with other makers, and share your progress.

2. What Is the Project?

This year’s KAL project is a top-down, seamless summer cardigan designed by the Scandinavian duo easy as knit.

It features a combination of cool textures and feminine structure, and is perfect for layering on chilly summer nights. The design is relaxed, colorful, and just the right mix of simple and stunning.

And yes, it's knit in a beautiful bold magenta, a color that screams summer joy. 💕

3. When Is the KAL?

Get ready to cast on – the KAL begins on June 4! 🎉

That’s when we’ll release the first part of the pattern and officially kick off a summer full of cozy knitting. From there, a new section of the pattern will be released every Wednesday, giving you time to enjoy each part as your cardigan slowly takes shape, week by week. ✨

5. What Skill Level Is Required?

The #EasySummerCardiKAL pattern is what easy as knit calls “almost easy”, and that’s exactly how we’d like you to think of it, too. 😊

It’s designed for confident beginners who already know the basics: how to knit and purl, work back and forth, knit in the round, use circular needles, and make a gauge swatch. If that sounds like you, you’re good to go!

But even if you’re still working on these basics, don’t worry – there’s plenty of time to practice and catch up before the KAL begins.

Each part of the pattern comes with a detailed video tutorial, where Elisabeth and Christine guide you through the steps. 💕

The pattern is built to help you learn as you knit – and the difficulty increases gradually over the six parts. You’ll start with simpler techniques and build up to things like cables, Italian cast-off, and a beautiful double-knit button band.

6. What's Included in the Kit?

The kit includes everything you need to get started on your #EasySummerCardiKAL adventure (except knitting needles). And you’ll also receive an exclusive project bag, designed to match the final cardigan! 💖

You’ll receive all the yarn required for your chosen size. The yarn itself is a surprise, but we can say this: it’s soft, strong, and makes the cardigan’s textures really pop! It’s also machine-washable, which makes your final project both practical and long-lasting – perfect for summer wear.

The cardigan is knit in a bold magenta color, handpicked by easy as knit to complement the design beautifully. ✨ It’s not possible to choose a different shade, but trust us – this vibrant color is part of the charm and makes the finished piece really pop!

The #EasySummerCardiKAL kit contain wool. We do not recommend the project to knitters that are sensitive to wool.

Just a heads-up: Knitting needles are not included in the kit. easy as knit recommend using these sizes:

• 4 mm circular needles, 40 cm
• 4 mm circular needles, 80 cm
• 5 mm circular needles, 40 cm
• 5 mm circular needles, 80 cm

7. How Much Does the Kit Cost?

The kit price depends on the size you choose:

• Size 1: 72 € 
• Size 2: 78 € 
• Size 3: 89 €

8. How Do I Choose My Size?

The #EasySummerCardiKAL cardigan is designed with a relaxed fit and positive ease, making it comfy and easy to wear. 💕

There are 3 kit sizes, based on your bust circumference:

• Size 1: 80–100 cm (31.5 - 39.4 inches)
• Size 2: 100–120 cm (39.4 - 47.2 inches)
• Size 3: 120–140 cm (47.2 - 55.1 inches)

In inches? We’ve got you covered! Size 1 is shown on a model with a bust circumference of 32.3" and a height of 64.2". Size 2 is shown on a model with a bust circumference of 44.1" and a height of 68.1". Size 3 is shown on a model with a bust circumference of 55.1" and a height of 66.9".

9. How Can I Prepare for the KAL?

The best way to get ready is by making your gauge swatch – it helps ensure the right fit and that you don’t run out of yarn. ✨
