SIZE
Size 1 (2)
You can choose between size 1 or 2 depending on whether you‘d like the hood to sit tighter or looser.
MEASUREMENTS
Scarf: 149 cm / 58.5” long x 8 cm / 3.25” wide.
Height of the hood, laying flat: 22.5 (25.5) cm / 8.75” (10”)
Width of the hood laying flat: 18 (20.5) cm / 7” (8”)
PATTERN INFORMATION
The Rust & Rhythm Bonnet is a narrow scarf with a hood attached, which provides extra warmth for your neck and ears.
First, you knit a narrow scarf, which combines a 1 x 3 garter stitch rib with the intarsia technique to create small graphical shapes. You follow a simple 2-row repeat pattern to create the garter stitch rib, while at the same time following a colour chart for the intarsia shapes.
Then you knit a hood, and attach the hood to the scarf when binding off the stitches – of course you can also knit the scarf without the hood!
Additionally, the pattern includes step-by-step instructions for the intarsia join, and a trick to hide any floats that occur when a motif changes shape and you need to carry the yarn backwards or forwards.
