The #NoShadesOfGreyMAL is a mystery Make-Along dedicated to… colors! We know that waiting for Spring to come around can be hard, especially after weeks of dark afternoons and grey weather (at least here in Denmark). And so, we thought we would help you make the wait a little easier. With a fun Make-Along that avoids grey shades and is all about a very fashionable, colorful garment!
From 16th March on, we will work on a brand new cardigan pattern (broken down into six parts) - using ten beautifully matching colors. We will keep the final design a mystery until the very end but to already excite you a little bit more, there is a little hint, actually two: The design is very much inspired by a Quilt exhibition at the Fashion and Textile Museum in London. And the pattern designer is color queen Katie Jones herself!
Wait what - you have not heard of Katie Jones yet? This time´s Hobbii Make-Along designer is a British crochet and knitting heroine who lives and breathes colors! Her designs are creative, vibrant, and delightfully playful. Katie is especially known for her crochet designs but, lucky us, she is also an exceptional knitwear designer, which makes the Make-Along even more exciting because you decide whether to work on the knit or the crochet version (for the crochet kit, please click here). Even if it is different yarns, the final style is the same.
In addition to the yarn kit, we recommend using 4.5mm knitting needles - circular (50cm or longer) plus double-pointed ones - as well as a 4.5mm crochet hook (straight handle, not with a shaped or rubber handle). You will also need stitch markers, a scissor, and a tapestry needle.
